The college will be completing nine years of its existence and the fourth batch of Electronics, Telecommunication and Computer Science graduates will be joining their fraternity shortly. I whole heartedly wish all of them a very bright future. Many of them have brought laurels to the institute by securing placements in highly reputed institutions.
Establishing and managing an Engineering college is no mean task. It requires dedication, zeal to fulfill the vision and mission in addition to fulfilling the norms and standards set by the controlling authorities the AICTE, VTU and the Government. When I look back, it is gratifying to see the development the institute has achieved. In fact we started with three branches of Engineering in 2002 (ECE, TCE & CS & E). Two more branches Mechanical and Electrical were started in 2004, and in 2007 Information Science and MBA have been added. At present we offer B.E.in E&C (120 intake) CS&E (90 intake), Electrical, Mechanical, Information Science (each 60 intake) and one PG course MBA (60 intake). We are also starting MCA.
Admissions to I year B.E. is highly satisfying for the year 2008-09. The trend is expected to continue in the years come as there is a big boom in the IT sector which has created plenty of jobs for Engineers. I must congratulate the Training & Placement section of the college which is doing a good job and has shown steady progress in the placement of eligible students.
I also thank all the employees of the college for their efforts and co-operation in running the institution, and for the support extended in the growth of the college. |
