COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING

Department is approved by AICTE, New Delhi, and affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum

Year of Inception : 2002with an intake of 60, now the intake of the dept. of 120.

With the support of excellent laboratory facilities, the faculty with an ever-look-beyond attitude are destined to bring forth engineers to rise up to the challenge for the creation of fast processors and more networks, which is the need of the time.

Providing the content and the context, the department opens wide the windows for the students to seize the fleeting opportunities in the industry.

The department has experienced faculty members specialised in Compiler Design, Object Oriented System analysis and design, Artificial Intelligence, Expert Systems, Distributed Computing, Multimedia, System Modeling and Simulation, RDBMS, Computer Networks, Neural Networks, Data Communication, OOPS, Data Structures and Algorithm, Digital Signal Transmission, Software Engineering, Bio informatics, Operating Systems, Network Security, Telecommunication Systems, Information Retrieval and Web Mining.

DEPARTMENT NEWS

National Level Conferences:

• The department of CSE along with department of ISE organized First National Conference on “Recent Trends in Computers, Communication and Information Technology” on 17th & 18th April 2009 and Second National Level Conferences on 8th April 2011. Participants from all over the country actively participated and attended the conference.
• A seminar was organized on the topic “Trends in science and technology” by Dr. Dinesh R from L.G.
• A seminar was organized on the topic “Image Based Multi Factor authentication” by Dr. Mohammed misbahuddin, Research scientist C-DAC ,B’lore.
• A seminar was organized on the topic “Fundamental Research Avenues in Neural Networks” by Dr. G.T Raju, Professor ,Dept of CSE,RNSIT, B’lore.
• A seminar was organized on the topic “Recent Trends in Computer Network and technology” by Dr. D.H Manjaiah, Chairman, Dept of BOS, Manglore University,M’lore.
• Infosys Certification.
• Our dept have been successfully completed one Batch of Infosys Campus Connect Certification Course.
• FEP-Infosys Foundation Program 3.0 under Infosys Campus Connect Certification Course conducting second Batch from 18/03/2011 by CSE Faculties.

• Mr. Malatesh S H: A research paper titled “Web Mining: Key accomplishments, applications and future directions” has been published in 2010 International conference on Data storage and Data engineering from IEEE Computer Society.

• Mr.charan K V, Lecturer has attended FDP Program on Optical Networks and Relevant areas in Computer science and Technology on 06/07/2011 to 20/07/2011, organized by Sambram Institute of Technology, Bangalore and sponsored by AICTE, New Delhi.
• Mr Charan K V, Lecturer has attended Workshop on ASP.Net with AJAX on 25th feb 2012, organised by information science and engineering ,SIET, Tumkur.
• Mr. Anil kumar .K has attended FEP-Infosys Foundation Programme 3.0 under Infosys Campus Connect.

STUDENT NEWS

• Preethi Misra, a student of CSE Dept , has been recognized as best outgoing student of the year 2011.
• Students of CSE Dept have been well placed in various esteemed companies like INFOSYS, TECHGINI SOLUTIONS , UNISYS , WENGER & WATSON INC.
• Many  of our students have been selected for Internship of  IBM.
• Mr.Chetan kumar V, Student has Participated many “Tech fests” in IIT-Madras, Birla  Institute of Technology and Science-Pilani, NIT-Warangal, IIT-Kharagpur, IIT-Bombay etc and he also got so many prizes and appreciation from the universities.
• In the college we are opening a CSI Student Branch.
• Recently our Department students participated in other College fests and they got prizes.
• As a part of CS Forum activities, students have been conducted technical skill test competition.
